Active members were asked if they want the Plan to be active in the public pension debate and 96% of those with an opinion said yes, while 84% said they would take action themselves to protect the Plan.

94% of retired members said they would take action to protect their pension if the government were to introduce changes that would have a harmful impact on the Plan. The actions they said they would be most likely to take would be: advocating with their Member of Provincial Parliament, joining a letter-writing campaign, and working with their union to organize member campaigns.

At this point, no government-led changes to the Plan are foreseen. The survey question is asked to gauge member willingness to advocate if needed.
