Plan for retirement with your Annual Statement

Posted for Members, April 16, 2019

Your Annual Statement is a powerful resource that can help you plan for retirement. Your personalized statement displays the pension you earned in the CAAT Pension Plan up to December 31 of the previous year.

Once you receive your statement, don’t just file it away! Take some time to review your statement each year, to keep track of the pension you are earning in the Plan.

Your 2018 statement will reflect your membership in DBprime, our original plan design, up to the end of 2018. If you switched this year from DBprime to our new plan design, DBplus, your 2019 statement, which you will receive in 2020, will include your participation in both plan designs.

Use the estimator that’s right for you

Whether you’re earning a pension in the DBprime or DBplus plan design, you can get an estimate of your future pension using one of the Plan’s online pension estimators. Use the 3-Step Pension Estimator if you work full-time and are earning a pension in DBprime. Use the DBplus Estimator if you work part time or on contract, and are earning a pension in DBplus.

Combined with your annual statement, they provide you with an even more powerful way to plan for retirement:

  • By having your annual statement on hand, you can eliminate any guesswork when entering information into the Estimators.
  • While your annual statement shows your normal and early retirement date milestones, the Estimators allow you to model any number of retirement scenarios and project your pension to different retirement dates.

The Estimators are easy-to-use, secure, and available 24-hours a day. In less than five minutes, you can complete an estimate. Visit the Estimator page, then choose the estimator that’s right for you.
