Q. How does the CAAT Plan follow up with members moving from LTD to retirement if the required documents are not received within the 60 day window?
A. We have member contact information, so as part of our process, one of our Pension Analysts or member services representatives would follow up directly with that member.
Q. Does the CAAT Plan have a process in place to confirm that members who are retiring but who may have documents missing do not delay their pension?
A. We do have a process in place to follow up with members as quickly as possible before the next pension cut-off date.
Q. Do new members receive membership certificates from the CAAT Plan?
A. Yes they do.
Q. We normally send Proof of Age with the Pension Application form. Why does the CAAT Plan ask members to submit it again with the Option Documents?
A. Getting Proof of Age documents at retirement is a best practice for pension plans. Sometimes it’s more efficient to receive it with the Option Document if there are changes that may affect the pension calculation. However the Option Document cover letter indicates that the member should only send Proof of Age “if they have not already done so.”

Q. Will the PDF forms be fillable?
Yes the PDF form fields will continue to be fillable.
Q. With the large number of retirements in June, will you consider a second pension set up? run in June later in the month?
Last year we did a second run in early July because we had an accumulated number of setups. This year, we are processing retirement options as they are received, within the 5 day turnaround time, so we don’t expect there will be any extra at the deadline. But we will "play it by ear" and will consider a second run if necessary.
