Current opportunities:

Director, Service Delivery

The Director, Service Delivery is responsible for directing the strategic focus of the Member Services, Client Services and Central Processing teams. Reporting to the Vice President, Service Delivery, the Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the portfolio in alignment with the overall Service Delivery business strategy and road map. This includes overseeing strategic initiatives and developing resource plans to enable teams to deliver effectively and efficiently in the future mode of operation and beyond.  The Director will lead and support teams in the adoption of new tools, strategies and best practices required to support the growing Plan membership. The incumbent is responsible for implementing member initiatives; change management for members and the team; and working within the other Core Operations teams to evaluate the impacts of any legislation/regulations, actuarial standards, or other changes could have on the teams’ function and day to day service delivery. 

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated track record of success in developing high performing team
  • Experience implementing new tools and technology, managing and engaging teams through periods of significant growth and transformation.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, project management and implementations, analytical thinking and trend analysis
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Undergraduate degree along with a pension related professional designation.  An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Minimum 15 years of professional pension administration experience within a MEPP or public sector pension plan, and/or with administration service provider is required.  A minimum of 10 years of formal people leadership experience is expected.

Once here:

  • You will ensure the delivery of high-quality best-in-class customer service and plan administration through the following teams: central processing, client services, member services.
  • You will direct and oversee the teams’ activities to ensure compliance with policies, and provincial and federal legislation, and communications and disclosure of the Plan’s provisions.
  • You will provide effective leadership in the training and development of the teams’ staff by establishing objectives, evaluating performance and scheduling appropriate training for the delivery of pension administration services. 
  • You will maintain deep technical understanding of Plan text, applicable legislation (Provincial pension regulations), Collective Agreements, pension administration system, and develop and implement changes to pension administration processes and procedures to provide appropriate interpretation of Plan text in transactions with stakeholders.
  • You will participate within management committees to oversee the progress of key strategic and operational projects.
  • You will lead or participate in various strategic and operational projects: develop project scope and timeline in alignment with three-year business plan; manage projects, secure resources, provide status updates and manage risk and scope to ensure successful completion
  • You will work collaboratively with Finance department to ensure the accurate and timely payment of pension entitlements.

Manager, IT Operations

The Manager, IT Operations will provide daily leadership to the CAAT Pension Plan Operations team while coordinating the successful and timely delivery of technical services to CAAT’s Members, Employers and Internal Customers.

The Manager, IT Operations is a leader in the IT Operations group who will support our daily operational activities for service desk and CAAT Managed Services Organization. The Manager, IT Operations will oversee the Service desk (ticket management) and ensure that operations are functioning in a highly efficient manner, providing the highest level of service. The Manager, IT Operations is responsible for overall Service Desk management and communication to our internal organization, our members and employers as required. The Manager, IT Operations is also responsible for attaining maximum utilization of technical staff through oversight of daily dispatching of service requests to the team. The Manager, IT Operations reports directly to the Director, Information Technology.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Exceptional IT Service Delivery or OPS experience managing complex processes and device alerts/events
  • Strong technical knowledge of Linux and Windows, VMware, networking including switching, firewalls and load balancers.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud (AWS, Azure or VMWare) and On Prem hosting environments and infrastructure (Servers, SAN, Networks, Cloud Platforms, etc.)
  • ITIL/ITSM experience
  • Ability to respond to rapidly changing situations
  • Strong communication skills with experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and properly prioritize workload and projects
  • Ability to explain and present technical concepts to non-technical users

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Systems/Engineering or a related discipline or at least 10 years of experience driving continuous service improvement on a team which has shown an excellent track record in providing quality process and continuous service improvement. Minimum 5 years in management role. 

Once here:

  • You will maintain and continually improve quality of the CAAT OPS team
  • You will provide performance reports to executives, managers, and individuals using qualitative and quantitative inputs, outputs, outcomes and end-to-end process measures
  • You will oversee 100% of the requests, incidents and problems for the Service desk team
  • You will train, coach and mentor Service Desk Specialists including career development
  • You will provide data and reporting of KPI’s and trends to CAAT Leadership, ad-hoc, weekly, monthly and as needed. Will drive Ticket Deep Dive and develop strategies for improvement.
  • You will support the development of an effective and workable framework for managing and improving customer IT support in the organization. Advise management on situations that may require additional client support or escalation.
  • You will manage process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization
  • Act as a Major Incident lead as required

Program Manager, ITSM and Operational Projects

We are looking for a process oriented, hyper service focused individual that will play a strategic role in CAAT’s goal of providing a consistent Service Experience.

As a technical project and ITSM/ ITIL process minded person, you will play a role in developing, managing, and improving processes, including incident management, problem management, asset management, change management, and knowledge management. The Program Manager, ITSM and Operational Projects will support the early engagement of new services targeted for support with the IT Managed Services Organization. This role will also support the identification and investigation of continuous service improvement opportunities and assess the efforts in implementing and coordinating these activities as defined within CAAT’s service management strategies.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Strong project management skills
  • Program management skills
  • Strong communication skills (phone, email, presentation)
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and properly prioritize workload and projects
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment
  • Ability to explain and present technical concepts to non-technical customers
  • ITSM for DevOps knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Cloud (AWS, Azure or VMWare) and On Prem hosting environments and infrastructure (Servers, SAN, Networks, Cloud Platforms, etc.)
  • ITIL v4 foundation certification

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science/Systems/Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience. At least 10 years of experience driving continuous service improvement on a team which has shown an excellent track record in providing quality process and continuous service improvement. A minimum of 5 years in a management role.

Once here:

  • You will review and rollout IT Service Management (ITIL) initiatives across CAAT Pension Plan
  • You will drive a Proactive Service Management Culture with CAAT Pension Plan
  • You will own the development of a Continuous Service Improvement Register and priority list
  • You will support pre-scoping efforts, communication updates, planning and management of work backlogs on the Service Improvement Plan
  • You will maintain the ITSM rollout roadmap and scheduling for CAAT as an Organization
  • You will validate and rationalize new project requests to ensure the project requirements for new initiatives are met
  • You will support the improvement of the Service experience and satisfaction ratings.
  • You will work with key stakeholders to ensure the service management tools and processes are effectively being applied to meet business needs
  • You will assist the Director, Information Technology lead the implementation and maturation of IT service management best practice processes; work collaboratively across all levels of CAAT

In this important role, you will help develop and utilize new tools to properly value benefits and measure risks in non-routine situations. You will support the Growth Team in analyzing trends and performing actuarial projections. You will be involved in a wide range of day-to-day tasks, internal projects, and special activities associated with the Plan's growth initiative. 

A Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics or Mathematics, and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation (or working toward) along with three (3) or more years' of progressive professional experience in the actuarial area of the pension industry and a thorough understanding of pension calculations and process improvement make you an ideal candidate. ​You must also have significant abilities with financial, analytical, and modelling skills.

We are looking for resourceful, strategic thinking Pension Analysts to join our Service Delivery department. 

 

Acting as a front-line pension administrator you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the CAAT Pension Plan. As part of our Service Delivery teams, you will process all types of transactions, calculations, and activities using the administration system, and will collaborate with internal teams and external plan members to ensure best in class service. 

We are looking for experienced individuals with a combination of the following attributes:

  • ​Understanding of complex pension administration systems and working with pension plan texts
  • Expertise in processing critical transactions and activities (e.g. terminations, retirements, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience executing test plans/cases, defect analysis, quality reviews, and data integrity
  • Strong knowledge of applicable legislation
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a mathematical aptitude
  • A quick learner with experience in member transactions
  • Exceptional communication skills for a business environment (both written and oral)
  • Sound judgment, collaborative team player who is detail oriented and logical
  • Someone who thrives juggling multiple priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills

​Your College diploma or University Degree, with at least 5 years of experience with multiple employer pension plans (MEPP), public sector pension administration, or an outsourcing service provider will make you a strong candidate. You may also have or be actively pursuing your Pension Plan Administration Certificate, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Program, or Certified Benefits Professionals designation(s).

 

Once here:

  • ​You will process and complete all transaction activities including terminations, retirements, deaths, transfers, service purchases (buybacks) and pension estimates
  • You will interact with employers and their members, former members, and retired members
  • You will participate in structured training sessions
  • You will conduct process reviews and support audit activities
  • You will support required system updates and identify opportunities to streamline processes
