You will play an important role in our software development team to develop and support public facing and internal web applications. QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills are required:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • At least 3 years of experience of development in .NET.
  • Expert level knowledge of C#, and .NET 4 framework including ASP. NET MVC using Visual Studio 2012 or newer.
  • Hands-on experience in creating high performance web application leveraging popular JavaScript Frameworks such as JQuery, Bootstrap and AngularJS.
  • Good understanding of modern strategies used in developing enterprise applications (Transactions, Security, Operations and Design Patterns)
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL for Oracle.
  • Strong working experience in designing and implementing data access using ADO.NET and/or Entity Framework.
  • Ability to adapt new technology in a constantly changing, fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong team player.
  • Knowledge of UML and SDLC.
  • Strong technical writing skills to produce effective support documentation.

The following skills would be beneficial:

  • Familiarity with Unit Testing.
  • Familiarity with configuring and deploying web applications on IIS 7.5 is a plus.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle 12c and MS SQL Server.
  • Experience using IBM Cognos Analytics Report Studio.
  • Experience working in a Pension Plan or in the financial services sector.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the IT team, this position requires someone who is self-motivated, a team player who is action and results oriented. Good communication and reporting skills are also required to multi-task in this fast growing environment. Although most of the responsibilities will focus on building and maintaining software tools, as with other IT positions, this position also requires the ability to step in and backup other roles such as helpdesk, database administration, website management and other types of user and network support tasks.

Technical tasks:

  • Develops and maintains public facing and internal web applications and databases.
  • Assists in the Pension Administration system development/build process.
  • Analyzes requirements and develops system specifications.
  • Develops and distributes technical support documentation for applications and software patches created by the software development team.
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Technical Support Administrator - Full-time

We’re hiring a Technical Support Administrator for a full-time position

Who you are

You are a person who enjoys working with computer hardware and software. A problem solver with excellent knowledge of how networks work. You are exceptionally analytical, able to solve complicated computer networking challenges and enjoy working with non-technical users as well as experts. As a Technical Support Administrator, you will be able to build, extend and support the technology environment for the benefit of our staff and members. What you’ll do

You will play an important role in our technical support team. As part of the technology team, you will support users with a variety of helpdesk issues. Your role will include troubleshooting network connectivity problems, fixing user authentication and desktop problems, helping with meeting room audio visual equipment as well as working collaboratively to bring innovative technology to the organization. Your knowledge of network security, email system features, desktop and operating systems will be fully utilized in supporting both back office technology design and end user systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

You will work with a small, close-knit technical team to provide support for the day-to-day operations of the IT desktop, server and network infrastructure. Ensuring availability and security of systems. You will troubleshoot, resolve, and document issues that arise. You will coordinate requests for support, prioritize and assign severity levels, and follow up with users and your team to ensure service level standards are met. You will support end user workstations and server systems, including deployment, updating of hardware and patching software, and documenting processes as necessary.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor systems for availability and security; ensure backups are complete and up to date
  • Support Microsoft Windows workstations, including Windows OS, Office, and applications
  • Provide support for printing, scanning as well as mobile devices and desk phones
  • Support and maintain Windows and Linux servers and server applications
  • Maintain the virtual (vSphere) infrastructure including the server platform (hardware, iSCSI SAN)
  • Support overall network routing, VLANs, 802.1x, Wi-Fi, VPN and other remote access solutions.
  • Maintain the corporate firewall, IPS, anti-virus, execution control, disk encryption, certificate authority
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise; escalates and communicates with vendor support as required. Monitor overall network activity using various tools.
  • Provide technical support to staff; assist the Help Desk Administrator with hardware and software deployments
  • Assist the IT technical team with installations, upgrades and other projects as required.

Website Developer

We’re hiring a Website Developer for a full-time position

Who you are

What you’ll do

You will play an important role in our web-based, service delivery model by providing expertise to support both public facing and internal websites. You will design and implement well-maintained websites based on the .NET platform using Umbraco CMS as well as other third-party modules and systems. Your knowledge of website architecture, including Microsoft IIS, will allow you to lead the infrastructure design of a multi-site platform that developers will find efficient to use and allow content managers to effectively manage multiple websites. You will create technical documentation to reduce support and maintenance effort. You will deliver training to staff on the websites that the team deploys.

Who you are

What you’ll do
Reporting to the Vice President, Pension Management, the Director Communications, Stakeholder Relations and Marketing will oversee and lead the CAAT Pension Plan’s strategic communications and stakeholder relations teams and provide marketing direction and support for the Plan.

You will also provide advice and support to the broader leadership team to raise awareness of the Plan and its value through an effective messaging and strategy.

You will oversee the ongoing development and alignment of the Plan’s key messages across the spectrum of communications platforms, including all digital and print media and in-person presentations to support the organization to attain its strategic goals and objectives.

Ensure the communications and stakeholder relations teams stay current on emerging communications, marketing and research trends and platforms, and applies them proactively. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or college diploma in journalism, communications, marketing, arts or related field required.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in communications, marketing, writing or editing roles is desirable.
  • Excellent demonstrated written communication aptitude is a must.
    • With a high level of creative skills, the incumbent can write, edit and deliver communications material that are appropriate to a given target audience, using many different media channels.
  • A working knowledge of French (spoken and written), and pension industry experience are assets.
  • Must be an intermediate to advanced user of standard office software (Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and PowerPoint, as well as HTML, Acrobat, etc.).
  • Must be comfortable doing member outreach and on-camera interviews/videos.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and edit written material that is engaging, concise, and easy-to-understand for members and employers of the CAAT Pension Plan, available in a range of formats including:
    • Print
    • Web
    • Video
  • Gain and maintain a full understanding of Plan provisions, and ability to explain them simply and clearly.
  • Identify appropriate media for pension communications and develop strategy and tactics for delivery.
  • Working with Communications team, develop multimedia content aimed at members and employers.
    • Liaise with external video creation service providers
    • Write scripts and/or talking notes
    • Work with Graphic Designer to develop storyboards, and appropriate, useful graphics
  • Assist in deployment and reporting of digital content (e.g. web and, potentially, social media)
  • Work with Graphic Designer and Office Management to ensure print-ready versions of all publications are up-to-date, accurate, and available in both official languages.
  • Work with Graphic Designer and others to ensure employers are supplied with necessary communications products in a timely manner.
  • Support the development of member presentations and self-paced training modules on the website.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to research, write, and edit pension communications products, including website updates, bulletins, articles and other written materials for both print and online.
  • Provide communications advice as well as writing and design support to internal clients as needed, to ensure all public-facing communications are consistent and high quality, maintaining the integrity of the Plan’s brand.
  • Support overall communications objectives and initiatives as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Being involved in the CAAT Plan’s Social Committee is very rewarding. We organize activities like silent auctions and seasonal food and clothing drives in support of local charities. Throughout the year we find ways to help those less fortunate while interacting with each other outside of work.

Being a part of an organization that is actively aware of its impact on the environment is of great importance to me.
