We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Experience Administrator to join our dynamic, fast paced and rapidly growing team!

As CAATs growth initiative continues, the organization anticipates growth of volume in the small employer category.  This role adds value by acting as the main point of contact in facilitating the coordination of documentation, procedures and customer service required to onboard small employers in a timely manner.  As an expert in customer service and client relations with a proven desire to help people, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring employer queries related to the onboarding process are responded to in a polite courteous manner on a timely basis and the document management process is facilitated smoothly.  Success in the role is defined by employer customer satisfaction.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Customer service focused with a high aptitude for building strategic stakeholder relationships 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively interact with internal and external parties
  • Problem solver with excellent skills in documentation and follow up
  • Agile mindset, open and accepting of change and can adapt to varying states of ambiguity
  • Excellent decision-making skills in order to handle a wide variety of questions from clients and provide accurate information in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates sound business acumen and high level of confidentiality and judgement. 
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook)

Your University degree and/or College diploma, along with two to five years of experience in customer service/pension/insurance/finance industry make you an ideal candidate for this role. 

Once here you will:

  • Follow documented procedures and related checklists required to onboard a small employer in order to facilitate a streamlined onboarding process with high customer satisfaction and meeting the established service standards.
  • Conduct a basic needs analysis within the guidelines of offerings on which approach is required.
  • Coordinate information management activities related to the completion of the standard internal governance documents within target timelines and in order to ensure a seamless process from all stakeholders’ perspectives.
  • Interact with the employer, affinity partner and internal departments to ensure documentation completion and meeting of deadlines with a high customer satisfaction rating.
  • Anticipate and mitigate delays related to documentation collection.
  • Respond to all queries received by the employer by providing relevant, accurate and timely information.
  • Complete high-level verification processes including credit checks, average age of members, etc. and complete a review to determine if information results require management involvement.
  • Services the employer and/or affinity partner as the main point of contact by responding to and coordinating any information requests.

Actuarial Analyst, Member & Employer Onboarding

As CAAT’s growth initiative continues, we are looking for a talented and experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our team.

In this role, you will help develop and utilize new tools to properly value benefits and measure risks in non-routine situations. You will support the Growth Team in analyzing trends and performing actuarial projections. You will be involved in a wide range of day-to-day tasks, internal projects, and special activities associated with the Plan’s growth initiative.

You will provide actuarial support to the Member & Employer Onboarding team, and other CAAT team members.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Strong analytical skills, attentive to detail and thorough, with a mathematical aptitude
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • A quick learner who is eager to grow and develop and can juggle multiple priorities
  • Accountability - Takes ownership of personal workload and performs tasks to completion within deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player
  • Agile mindset, open and accepting of change and can adapt to varying states of ambiguity
  • Problem solver always looking to improve current practices
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Familiarity with pensions and pension related calculations an asset
  • Experience working with valuation and projection software such as ProVal would be an asset

Your University degree (e.g. majoring in actuarial science, statistics, or mathematics)and/or College diploma, and or a combination of equivalent training, education, and experience, along with one to two years of experience, preferably in the actuarial area of a pension or insurance industry make you an ideal candidate for this role. Actively working towards an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) is strongly preferred

Once here you will:

  • Assist with data analysis for special projects and provide actuarial support around potential mergers with other pension plans
  • Support the actuarial team with both improvement of existing tools and development of new tools as required
  • Contribute to the preparation of applications, notices, operational reports, and other growth-related correspondence and documentation
  • Participate in team meetings to plan for new projects and review progress of ongoing projects
  • Support the actuarial team in preparing responses to questions submitted by Plan staff or stakeholders
  • Work with Plan staff from various teams to resolve onboarding related issues
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation with problem solving, and identify opportunities to improve processes
  • Acquire up to date knowledge on applicable pension legislation and industry practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Administrative Assistant

We are looking for a conscientious critical thinker to join our Pension Solutions team as an Administrative Assistant where the work will be dynamic and sometimes unpredictable. This role is important because you will be the day-to-day conduit between teams, providing administrative and support services to the Pension Solutions Team.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Exceptional judgement, strong team player, thorough, and logical
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a positive can-do approach

A University or College Degree in Business, Office Administration or equivalent, with two years or more of progressive office support experience make you an ideal candidate. You must also have an aptitude for project coordination, a high proficiency in Microsoft Office (including proficiency in Excel), and Customer Relations Management (CRM) software experience.

  • You will provide a full range of administrative and support services

We are looking for talented, experienced Actuarial Analysts to join our team. 

In this important role, you will help develop and utilize new tools to properly value benefits and measure risks in non-routine situations. You will support the Growth Team in analyzing trends and performing actuarial projections. You will be involved in a wide range of day-to-day tasks, internal projects, and special activities associated with the Plan's growth initiative. 

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics or Mathematics
  • Associate, Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA)/Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or actively working towards an actuarial designation strongly preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive professional experience in the actuarial area of the pension industry and a thorough understanding of pension calculations and process improvement make you an ideal candidate. 
  • You must also have significant abilities with financial, analytical, and modeling skills. 

In addition, we are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Superior analytical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations and synthesize relevant information
  • Adaptable in changing work environments
  • Strong business acumen, sound judgment and a high level of integrity
  • Action-oriented with a high degree of initiative and the ability to shift and manage multiple priorities

Once here:

  • Emphasis on data analysis for special projects and actuarial support around potential mergers with other pension plans
  • A key member of the actuarial team responsible for both improvement of existing tools and development of new tools as required
  • Work with Plan staff from various teams to resolve complex pension-related issues and high-risk or complicated benefit calculations 
  • In conjunction with the actuarial team prepare responses to questions submitted by Plan staff or stakeholders
  • Support actuarial filings and related funding analysis, complete peer reviews ensuring the accuracy of all filings and analysis
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing actuarial analysis and interpreting Plan provisions
  • Monitor and contribute to the preparation of quarterly statistical reports
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation with problem-solving, and identify opportunities to improve processes
  • Monitor pension industry practices while maintaining up to date knowledge on applicable pension legislation

Pension Analysts

We are looking for resourceful, strategic thinking Pension Analysts to join our Service Delivery department.  

Acting as a front-line pension administrator you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the CAAT Pension Plan. As part of our Service Delivery teams, you will process all types of transactions, calculations, and activities using the administration system, and will collaborate with internal teams and external plan members to ensure best in class service. 

We are looking for experienced individuals with a combination of the following attributes:

  • Understanding of complex pension administration systems and working with pension plan texts
  • Expertise in processing critical transactions and activities (e.g. terminations, retirements, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience executing test plans/cases, defect analysis, quality reviews, and data integrity
  • Strong knowledge of applicable legislation
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a mathematical aptitude
  • A quick learner with experience in member transactions
  • Exceptional communication skills for a business environment (both written and oral)
  • Sound judgment, collaborative team player who is detail-oriented and logical
  • Someone who thrives juggling multiple priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills

Your College diploma or University Degree, with at least 5 years of experience with multiple-employer pension plans (MEPP), public sector pension administration, or an outsourcing service provider will make you a strong candidate. You may also have or be actively pursuing your Pension Plan Administration Certificate, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Program, or Certified Benefits Professionals designation(s). 

Once here, you will:

  • You will process and complete all transaction activities including terminations, retirements, deaths, transfers, service purchases (buybacks) and pension estimates
  • You will interact with employers and their members, former members, and retired members
  • You will participate in structured training sessions
  • You will conduct process reviews and support audit activities
  • You will support required system updates and identify opportunities to streamline processes
