We’re hiring a Director Communications, Stakeholder Relations & Marketing for a full-time position

Who you are
A dynamic, people and results oriented director with extensive experience (10+ years) in communications, marketing and stakeholder relations, particularly in the pension or financial services sector.

You also have significant progressive leadership experience at the director level (5+ years) in managing teams, along with strategic experience and skills.

What you’ll do
Reporting to the Vice President, Pension Management, the Director Communications, Stakeholder Relations and Marketing will oversee and lead the CAAT Pension Plan’s strategic communications and stakeholder relations teams and provide marketing direction and support for the Plan.

You will also provide advice and support to the broader leadership team to raise awareness of the Plan and its value through an effective messaging and strategy.

You will oversee the ongoing development and alignment of the Plan’s key messages across the spectrum of communications platforms, including all digital and print media and in-person presentations to support the organization to attain its strategic goals and objectives.

Ensure the communications and stakeholder relations teams stay current on emerging communications, marketing and research trends and platforms, and applies them proactively. Leads team in identifying opportunities to develop new, innovative solutions that will aid in reaching strategic communication and marketing goals.

What you’ll do
You will play an important role in our software development team to develop and support public facing and internal web applications. You will also use your expertise in business process automation to improve business productivity. You will create patches to fix or enhance new and existing applications. You will create technical documentation to reduce support and maintenance effort. You may be called upon to deliver timely training to staff on the software that the team builds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of development in .NET.
  • Expert level knowledge of C#, and .NET 4 framework including ASP. NET MVC using Visual Studio 2012 or newer.
  • Hands-On expert in creating high performance web application leveraging popular JavaScript Frameworks (JQuery, Bootstrap, AngularJS).
  • Good understanding of modern strategies used in developing enterprise grade applications (Transactions, Security, Operations and Design Patterns)
  • Familiarity with Unit Testing a plus.
  • Familiarity with configuring and deploying web applications on IIS 7.5.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle 12c and MS SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL for Oracle.
  • Strong working experience in designing and implementing data access using ADO.NET and/or Entity Framework.
  • Ability to adapt new technology in a constantly changing, fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong team player.
  • Knowledge of UML and SDLC.
  • Strong technical writing skills to produce effective support documentation.
  • Experience using IBM Cognos Analytics Report Studio is a plus.
  • Experience working in a Pension Plan or in the financial services sector is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or college diploma in journalism, communications, marketing, arts or related field required.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in communications, marketing, writing or editing roles is desirable.
  • Excellent demonstrated written communication aptitude is a must.
    • With a high level of creative skills, the incumbent can write, edit and deliver communications material that are appropriate to a given target audience, using many different media channels.
  • A working knowledge of French (spoken and written), and pension industry experience are assets.
  • Must be an intermediate to advanced user of standard office software (Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and PowerPoint, as well as HTML, Acrobat, etc.).
  • Must be comfortable doing member outreach and on-camera interviews/videos.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and edit written material that is engaging, concise, and easy-to-understand for members and employers of the CAAT Pension Plan, available in a range of formats including:
    • Print
    • Web
    • Video
  • Gain and maintain a full understanding of Plan provisions, and ability to explain them simply and clearly.
  • Identify appropriate media for pension communications and develop strategy and tactics for delivery.
  • Working with Communications team, develop multimedia content aimed at members and employers.
    • Liaise with external video creation service providers
    • Write scripts and/or talking notes
    • Work with Graphic Designer to develop storyboards, and appropriate, useful graphics
  • Assist in deployment and reporting of digital content (e.g. web and, potentially, social media)
  • Work with Graphic Designer and Office Management to ensure print-ready versions of all publications are up-to-date, accurate, and available in both official languages.
  • Work with Graphic Designer and others to ensure employers are supplied with necessary communications products in a timely manner.
  • Support the development of member presentations and self-paced training modules on the website.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to research, write, and edit pension communications products, including website updates, bulletins, articles and other written materials for both print and online.
  • Provide communications advice as well as writing and design support to internal clients as needed, to ensure all public-facing communications are consistent and high quality, maintaining the integrity of the Plan’s brand.
  • Support overall communications objectives and initiatives as required.

    • Processing data changes to the pension administration system

    • Processing and monitoring enrolment information of new members

    • Participate in the retired member audit and other projects and update records accordingly

    • Assist in processing Power of Attorney documentation

    • Process retired member banking, tax and address updates

    • Validate and post Leave transactions

    • Investigate outstanding Overpayments as a result of Plan member death, update tracking tool and prepare requests for  write-offs

    • Update retirement trackers

    • Track post transaction surveys

    • Fulfillment process for member events as required

  • Cross train on all transactions to be able to assist during period of peak volumes to ensure that required SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met

Manager, Software Testing

We’re hiring a Full-Time Manager, Software Testing

Who you are

Joining a talented team of dedicated technology professionals, your ability to develop and execute testing plans and process requirements will provide solid support for the pension administration system, the organization and ultimately pension plan members and other stakeholders.

What you’ll do
The Manager, Software Testing provides expertise in automated and manual software testing. The Manager supports the development of the organization’s pension administration system by leading all testing efforts to the system, as well as any additional external software components. This position therefore requires knowledge and hands-on expertise of various testing methodologies but specifically automated software testing systems. The Manager must be goal focused and able to lead a team of talented software testers by prioritizing and assigning work, reviewing and monitoring milestones as well as coaching and mentoring individual team members.

 

The Manager is responsible for:

  • Managing a team of software testers by planning, prioritizing, resourcing and assigning testing work as well as leading, coaching and mentoring individual team members.
  • Developing the test automation strategy with a specific focus on maximizing reuse for regression testing purposes.
  • Implementing the automated testing strategy by developing, coding and executing test cases and test script frameworks using automated testing tools such as Ranorex, Selenium, C# scripting, PL/SQL, etc..
  • Supporting the test team by recommending tools and processes to automate other test activities such as test management, reporting, test data generation and defect management.
  • Leading the testing efforts by planning, scheduling, assigning and managing the execution of test plans.
  • Reporting on the status of testing work using various reports and dashboards as well as meetings and other formal status update methods

Knowledge:

  • At least 8+ years of hands on test automation experience.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively manage the testing team by ensuring adequate allocation of testing resources as well as mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Developing and executing automated and manual test plans to validate functional requirements and resolve defects.
  • Leading the testing team by assigning, scheduling and prioritizing testing activities.
  • Following established testing processes which include identifying, assessing, resolving and/or escalating issues as well as develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Collaborating with the development team to ensure accurate test coverage and feature correctness.
  • Identifying and tracking testing resources needed to cover project testing requirements.
  • Collaborating with the QA team to ensure that high quality standards are met.
  • Reproducing and reporting on defects uncovered by system users.
  • Providing reports to stakeholders on quality metrics.
  • Participating in the improvement of the SDLC for all developed/supported systems in order to meet organizational objectives.
  • Reviewing and interpreting all documentation related to testing, including business requirements and functional and design specifications, in order to provide input to the project team regarding the planning of testing activities.
