Le Régime de retraite des collèges d'arts appliqués et de technologie (CAAT) gère les prestations de retraite de plus de 30 000 participants de l'ensemble des collèges de l'Ontario. Il assure la collecte des cotisations que lui versent les 28 employeurs et gère les actifs de la caisse qui s'élèvent à près de 5 milliards de dollars.

Current position - Investment Analyst (June 15, 2012)

The Role - The Investment Analyst will be responsible for the design and maintenance of systems to monitor the Fund’s private market investment portfolios, including fund commitments and co-investments in private equity, infrastructure and real estate.  The Investment Analyst will also design and produce regular reports and commentary for CAAT management and the Board of Trustees, and support the Director, Investments in the analysis of prospective private market fund commitments and co-investment opportunities.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Model and track infrastructure and private equity fund and co-investment commitments for pacing purposes
  • Track and analyse the performance and characteristics of existing fund commitments, underlying portfolio companies and co-investments
  • Work with managers of the Fund’s existing private market fund commitments and external advisors to ensure the Fund’s reporting requirements are met
  • Track currency exposures and manage hedging requirements for the Fund’s private market portfolios
  • Maintain a database of high potential private market funds and carry out research and analysis in support of fund commitment recommendations
  • Assist in the research and analysis of private market co-investment opportunities
  • Prepare quarterly asset class and manager performance material and draft related commentary
  • Design and prepare regular management level portfolio reports
  • Assist in the documentation process for private market fund commitments
  • Work with CAAT Investment and Finance teams to ensure capital calls and distributions are handled in a timely, accurate manner

Qualifications and Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Economics with specialization in Finance or Accounting.
  • Preference for MBA and / or CFA designation
  • Five or more years of professional experience in an investment setting at a pension fund or investment management firm
  • Excellent financial analytical skills and functional knowledge of computer-based analysis and modelling, and a sound understanding of various performance and risk measures
  • Experience with Bloomberg and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with oversight of private market fund and co-investment portfolios would be an asset
  • A desire to maintain strong current knowledge of investment research, trends and directions
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Detail orientation, independent worker with solid prioritization and organizational skills
  • Willing and able to travel
