Keeping in touch
It's important for the CAAT Pension Plan to keep up-to-date with each pensioner. Once you retire, let us know as soon as possible of any changes to your residence, marital status, beneficiary or bank account. Changes can be reported using our Pensioner Change Request form or by contacting us.
You can expect to receive correspondence from the CAAT Plan during the course of your retirement. Ongoing communication is the best way for you to keep informed of changes to policies or procedures that affect the Plan.
- At the end of each year you will receive a letter from us to let you know of any increase in your pension due to inflation protection.
- If you retired early, we will send you a letter shortly before your 65th birthday to remind you that your bridge benefit will end the month you turn 65. This is an important reminder that this portion of your pension will be permanently removed from your monthly payment.
- We also send all CAAT Plan Pensioners Newsletters. This is one method of keeping you up to date with the ongoing status of the Plan's fund, any Plan amendments and changes in the governance structure.
- Occasionally, we will attempt to reach pensioners by mail and ask them to confirm the currency of our database information. Your cooperation with these efforts will be appreciated.
Pensioner Change Request form
Please be sure to advise us as soon as possible of any changes to your residence, marital status, beneficiary or bank account. Changes can be reported using our Pensioner Change Request form. Download a copy of the form, and return the completed and signed form to the CAAT Pension Plan.
Separation or divorce
If your marital status has changed due to separation or divorce, be aware that under Ontario law, the value of the pension you earned while married must be included in the calculation of family property. Read our pamphlet “Your pension and separation or divorce” to learn about the process to follow should you find yourself in this situation.
