Position Title: Pension Project Analyst (contract to December 31, 2012)
Reports to: Project Manager, Pension System Implementation Project
THE POSITION
The CAAT Pension Plan is in the process of replacing the current pension administration system. This is a multi-year project with launch of the new pension system scheduled for January 1, 2013. In meeting this goal, the Plan requires a Pension Project Analyst to work on the project team to prepare and execute testing; develop processes and procedures as they relate to the new pension system; and to develop and deliver training to Pension Administration staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or community college degree or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing, and preparation and delivery of training
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly motivated self starter
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to multi task and assist on other areas of the project, as needed
- Knowledge of pension administration for defined benefit pension plans, preferably multi-employer or public sector plans
- Current knowledge of pension legislation (e.g. Pension Benefits Act) and related statutory requirements
- Familiarity with pension administration systems
- Experience in formal testing methodologies, test preparation and test execution activities
- Familiarity with automated testing tools, an asset
- Knowledge of methods and processes used in quality assurance of software programs
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, design and execute test plans, test cases and expected resultsspecific to the pension system project
- Track defects and problems that arise during testing
- Work with pension system vendor and Pension Administration staff to resolve defects
- Develop and document processes for Pension Administration staff as related to the new pension system
- Identify training needs and assist in developing and documenting training materials and programs for the new pension system
- Lead structured training sessions on new processes and procedures as related to the pension system project
- Provide on-going information updates to staff, as related to the pension system project, to ensure knowledge level remains current and processes and procedures are updated accordingly
