Welcome to a new employer

We are pleased to welcome the Ontario Colleges Library System (OCLS) as a new employer in the Plan, effective December 1, 2009. The OCLS is a new entity, with a mandate to deliver a suite of core library services to the 24 Colleges across the province.

The Plan's Sponsorship and Trust Agreement was amended late last year to allow for this new employer, and to open up the possibility of other new employers joining in the future. Note that our strategy with this change is to support College initiatives and staff members, and ensure that everyone working within the College system has an opportunity to be part of the Plan. It is not a strategy to expand outside the College system.

As part of this approach, the Plan has recently formalized the non-college employer status of the Ontario College Application Service (OCAS). By including OCAS in the Plan text we are ensuring that all employers are formally recognized in the Plan's documention.

We look forward to working together with OCLS, along with OCAS and all our employers, to enhance the retirement benefits for employees.
