Calculating Pensionable Earnings for a period of disability
We would like to clarify that only certain elements of a Plan Member's periodic payments are included for the purposes of calculating the deemed Pensionable Earnings when the Member is receiving disability benefits under Long Term Disability or the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA).
These elements include basic salary and wages, shift premiums, co-ordinator allowance, lead hand premium, and senior college master allowance. These amounts are deemed to be those as of the last day such earnings were received prior to the start of the disability period.
