Are you a new Human Resources, Payroll or Benefits professional at one of the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology? If you are new to your role, or have recently joined the College system, you may have some questions about the CAAT Plan's procedures. This page is an ideal starting point for general information about the resources available to you.

Administration Manual

The Administration Manual, which we update on a yearly basis, is your detailed guide to the CAAT Pension Plan. It outlines the steps to take and the forms you require for every aspect of CAAT Plan administration. You must make sure to use the most recent version of the Manual.

Electronic Forms

This Website is the only source for most of the forms needed to process enrolments, terminations, service purchases and contributions. Using electronic forms ensures that you always have access to recent changes and updates to the Plan. You can choose to print the blank forms and fill them in by hand, or download them to your computer to be filled in electronically. Some forms are not available online and are sent to you by the CAAT Plan. All forms must be printed in order to be signed, then mailed to us.

Website Resources

This Website is one of the most convenient methods of providing you with the latest word on changes and updates that occur with your pension plan. On our main Administrator page we provide announcements that affect you. You also have access to the Member and Pensioner sections in order to view the features available to them.

PA Calculator

The Pension Adjustment Calculator is available for Administrators who wish to calculate the PA and Contributions for Plan Members. We update it yearly to include any changes to the Year's Maximum Pensionable Earnings and other adjustments that may affect the calculation.

Commuted Value, Pension and Service Buyback Estimator

This Estimator is also a useful tool for providing pension estimates to Members. You can also direct Members to the Estimator so that they can use it on their own. It's important to note that the Estimator can only provide approximate amounts and is not meant to replace the up-to-date calculations done by the CAAT Plan at the time of a Member's retirement.

Correspondence

We try to reach as wide an audience as possible by using several methods of communication.

Newsletters - Administrator newsletters are topic-specific announcements that are sent to each representative as required. We provide these updates in the form of letters, emails or Website postings.
Member Newsletters are mailed to each College three times a year for distribution to Plan Members. Pensioner Newsletters are also available and are mailed directly from the CAAT Plan to each retired Member.
Pamphlets - These print and online booklets cover specific topics in detail. They are mailed to each College to be distributed to each Plan Member as needed. To order additional pamphlets for your College, complete and submit the online pamphlet order form.

How to reach us

The list of contacts available on our Website is updated when necessary. You will find our general contact information as well as a list of the phone numbers to use for specific issues. We also provide a detailed map and driving directions to our office.

Keeping us up-to-date

It is very important that the CAAT Pension Plan is notified of any changes in the pension or Human Resources department at each College. We must keep our database up-to-date to ensure that you and your colleagues are advised of important issues as soon as possible. Please make sure to advise us of any changes to office phone numbers, email and physical addresses, as well as the departure or addition of staff members with pension responsibilities.
