Transferring Service

Definition / Eligibility:

An Other Than Regular Full-time (OTRFT) Employee of a College who is under age 71 and was previously a Member of the CAAT Pension Plan will, upon rehire, automatically be treated as a new Employee if upon termination they either:

OTRFT Employees must wait to join the Plan. They may choose to join when they have completed 24 months of continuous eligibility service and are actively working, providing they are still under age 71. Once they join the Plan, they remain Members as long as they are employed and under age 71. At age 71 they must stop contributing and start receiving their pension, even if still employed.
